Sarah has created a space and community conducive to helping mums improve their mental and physical health and well-being. A place where mums can exercise, form friendships, and feel safe, free of judgement (and have a laugh)!
Sarah’s mission is to help mums to understand the importance of prioritising themselves. To lock in time just for them. Helping them to feel stronger, more confident, and energised to keep up with the daily demands of motherhood (which is never ending)!

Fitness and being active have always played a very important part in Sarah’s life. Having played hockey for 30+ years laid these foundations. Leaving high school with no certain direction but a love for sport and children Sarah pursed both areas of interest and completed her Certificate III in Fitness and Certificate III in Children’s Services.
Life changed leading Sarah from Launceston to Hobart with her now husband and she spent seven years in the Police Service. Five years and four children later Sarah found herself back in Hobart with a desire to improve her own health and fitness. To Sarah, it became evident that there were limited specialized post-natal fitness providers in Hobart.
She found her calling!!
Sarah re-completed her Certificate III and IV in Fitness and started working at Freedom Fitness at the beginning of 2018 with a special interest in working with mums as they return to exercise after having a baby.

The Freedom for Mums program was great in helping me get my confidence back after my c-section. I was keen to exercise again but needed some guidance and motivation! I thoroughly enjoyed the 8 week Freedom for Mums program. From the initial 1:1 with Sarah, to the final week, we were guided every step of the way in a positive and supportive environment. Being a mum herself, Sarah was very encouraging and understanding, as she knew what it felt like to be returning to exercise post birth.

Sarah not only taught eight of us how to correct our posture at each different work out station, but she also successfully baby sat multiple babies at once. I would absolutely recommend this course to anyone who wants to get back into exercise post birth.

That said, I really look forward to my time with Hans during the child friendly classes, they remind me that improving my fitness levels doesn’t always mean having to start at 6am, as I can still train, and not miss out on having quality time with my son. Hans loves watching me workout and often we burst out giggling when he decides to use me as a jumping castle whenever I’m doing a floor exercise! I know that he is learning about fitness as he watches me and the other members too- hopefully we will continue on our fitness journey together for many years to come.
