Like you, Jess felt frustrated, unheard and for a short time believed it was expected to be in pain and suffer pelvic floor symptoms “just” because she had a baby. She struggled to find the right advice and went in circles with health professionals telling her things like “just give it time”, “try to relax” and “it’s common but not normal”.
Eventually, she directed herself to see a women’s health physiotherapist for assessment and diagnosis and learnt that she could change her symptoms with different techniques and strategies through exercise. Jess's experience left her wondering how many mums had experienced the same but hadn’t found the care and advice they needed.
It was then Moofitmoofit was born. Jess coupled her knowledge, skills and personal experiences to support, educate and bridge the gap between postnatal care and the return to exercise for mums. Her goal is to provide a service where mums feel heard, empowered, informed and in control of their postpartum bodies.
Jess currently offers online personal training delivered through a powerful coaching app. Workouts are designed to be short but effective [with your pelvic floor in mind] and she offers habit-based coaching suited to your needs and goals to help set you on the path to success. There is on-demand access to her via the coaching app and bi-weekly phone check-ins to keep you connected, on track and motivated.

Growing up Jess was a state-level athlete, competitive sprinter and hockey player. Once she left school she discovered weight training and enjoyed challenging herself lifting heavy at the gym.
Her career in health started as an oral health therapist in 2011. By 2015 due to working long hours in a seated position, she was experiencing significant neck and back pain which led her to step away from dental for a short time and begin a bachelor of sports science. Halfway through her degree in 2016, she had her first son and it was due to her own postpartum experiences and journey she found where her true interests lie. Using her prior knowledge she gained her cert III and IV in personal training and has done extra certification to work with the pre and postnatal population.
She has been coaching pre and postnatal people from all over Australia with an online coaching system and is looking to offer more services for local Maitland area mums soon.

I have been training with jess for over a year now from when I planned to conceive, through my pregnancy and I will definitely keep going postpartum. I could not be happier with her services the app is easy to use and since the beginning it has been adapted to suit my changing needs, Jess is always available and approachable which makes it easy to communicate any concerns I might have about exercises. I always find it hard to stick to program but when jess’s support and encouragement I have had a more balanced lifestyle.”I have been training with jess for over a year now from when I planned to conceive, through my pregnancy and I will definitely keep going postpartum. Jess keeps me motivated and I love her understanding and how she never makes me feel bad about missing a workout. I love her tailored way of not just focusing on visually what I want to look like but what’s going on the inside and what stage of life I am”.

“Before meeting Jess I was in a rut with my fitness, I was feeling weak, experiencing prolapse symptoms and scared of exercising in case of exacerbating everything. Since working with jess I feel stronger, more confident in my body and I’m able to do things I love again without symptoms of prolapse which is amazing!”

It's quite some years since I had my babies. Thank you Jess so much, I am loving the improvements to my pelvic floor and the knowledge and work you have given me on connected breathing and core strength. Life changing! They say we are born knowing how breathe properly and then we forget. How true.

After an unexpected C-section I was really unsure of how to return to exercise safely. The before and after the bump program provides me safe and (very) effective exercises that i have been able to slot into my day whilst figuring out how to be a mum. Coach Jess has been with me every step of the way offering real life advice and much needed motivation, I wish i had discovered the program "before the bump" too.

It has been so great to find an exercise program that is safe to do during pregnancy and the postnatal period. I have always been active and wanted to continue this lifestyle throughout my first pregnancy, especially strength training. As a midwife, I also know the importance of exercising safely, due to all of the changes that are occurring to my body. In particular training that is appropriate for my pelvic floor and core. The before and after the bump program has been a exercise program that is safe, easy to do at home and has been tailored to the appropriate stage of my pregnancy journey. Now at 36 weeks, I am looking forward to knowing I can continue exercising after a physiotherapist sign off and start the postpartum program. I can’t say i want to “get my pre-pregnancy body back”, because I feel I have managed to maintain a good level of fitness during pregnancy - thanks Jess
